Warehouse Manager – About our client

Our client is a well-established and growing business operating within a fast-paced warehousing and logistics environment, supplying high-quality products to a diverse customer base. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to take full responsibility for warehouse operations, lead a small team and drive efficiency, safety and continuous improvement across the site.

Warehouse Manager – Details

Warehouse Manager – Responsibilities

  • Manage daily warehouse operations including receipt, storage, picking and dispatch of goods

  • Ensure customer demand and delivery deadlines are consistently achieved

  • Maintain accurate stock control through regular stock counts and effective use of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)

  • Optimise warehouse layout, storage utilisation and workflow efficiency

  • Supervise, motivate and develop warehouse staff to achieve operational targets

  • Manage staffing levels including rotas, holidays, absences and performance reviews

  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety and product safety standards

  • Maintain a clean, organised and secure warehouse environment

  • Coordinate effectively with transport providers and suppliers

  • Oversee maintenance and safe operation of warehouse equipment and company fleet

  • Support and promote a strong product safety culture in collaboration with the Compliance Manager

  • Establish, follow and enforce safety procedures in line with legal requirements

  • Attend weekly and monthly senior management meetings

  • Deliver regular toolbox talks to warehouse employees

  • Operate warehouse activities in line with BRCGS and FSC quality systems

  • Create, review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as required

 

Warehouse Manager – What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in warehouse management

  • Strong background within logistics and warehouse operations

  • Proven experience leading and motivating warehouse teams

  • Hands-on management style with strong problem-solving capability

  • Experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)

  • Strong communication, organisation and leadership skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet operational deadlines

  • Data entry and data processing experience

  • Knowledge of BRCGS and/or FSC standards desirable

  • Forklift licences preferred (Pivot and Counterbalance)

  • High attention to detail with strong organisational skills

  • Positive, flexible attitude with a strong customer service focus
