Are you an experienced Finance Manager looking for a new opportunity?

Do you have an AAT qualification and experience using Xero?

If so, Osborne Appointments is recruiting on behalf of our well established company based in Harpenden that is looking for Part Time Finance Manager to join the team on a Temporary contract, with the opportunity to develop into Permanent.

Finance Manager - Benefits:

  • Temporary to Permanent basis. 
  • AAT qualification and experience using Xero

Finance Manager – Duties

  • Raising sales invoices in a timely manner
  • Inputting into sales and purchase ledgers from source documents
  • Matching and reconciling invoices to statements and purchase orders to invoices using Vantage Online (bespoke software system for our industry)
  • Inputting accounting data into the accounting system with speed and accuracy
  • Proactive credit control to minimise overdue sales invoices and ensure payments are received
  • Bank reconciliation, posting and balancing
  • Wages, petty cash and other journal posting
  • Monthly management reporting (P&L)
  • Preparation of spread sheets, reports and correspondence as required
  • Budget/Prior Year monthly variance analysis
  • Credit card/expenses analyses
  • Preparation of information for auditors & assisting with queries
  • Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation
  • Compiling and submitting VAT returns and other HMRC documentation
  • Preparing annual budgets and monthly forecasts

Finance Manager – Skills and Experience

  • Preferably an AAT certificate or related accountancy qualification
  • Several years of experience in a finance role
  • Strong computer skills/experience and in-depth knowledge of Xero and MS Excel
  • Extensive experience of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Ability to propose and implement changes to improve them
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Organisational, attention to detail and planning/Multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to manage others and a team player
  • Analytical skills - the ability to interrogate the numbers and bring insights that improve the business
  • Proactive in learning new skills and developing them selves
  • Must be a dog lover
