Job title: Cook Manager School catering

Salary: £13.95 per hour (£17,503.90 per year)
As a Cook Manager, you will play a key role in leading the kitchen team, ensuring the delivery of fresh, nutritious meals alongside excellent service each day. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards while creating a positive and supportive kitchen environment.
Key responsibility
- Prepare daily menus using provided recipes, including accommodating special dietary and allergen requirements
- Maintain strict compliance with food hygiene, allergen management, and health & safety regulations
- Manage stock levels, oversee ordering, and control kitchen budgets effectively
- Lead, motivate, and support your team to ensure high performance and ongoing development
- Build strong working relationships with school staff, pupils, and the wider community
- DBS check ideal
About You:
- Previous experience in school catering or a similar catering environment, with a passion for fresh, high-quality food
- Food Hygiene Level 2 certificate (additional training can be provided if required)
- Good knowledge of kitchen health & safety and food safety standards
- Proactive and organised, with the ability to take initiative and lead a team confidently
- Enthusiastic about personal development and making a positive contribution within a school setting
