HGV driver.

Role: HGV Class 2 Driver

Location: Hemel Hempstead

Hours: Monday–Friday, 6:45am–4:15pm
Saturdays: Occasional (around 1 in 3 on a rota) and paid at time and a half. Saturday hours: 7:30am–12:00pm.

Salary: £33,660 base £1,300 London allowance

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an HGV Driver to join our client’s successful team. This is a hands-on role, delivering materials safely and efficiently to both trade and retail customers while maintaining high standards of service.

Duties of a HGV Driver:

• Safely operate HGV vehicles and equipment in line with license, training, and company standards
• Support with safe loading and unloading of building materials
• Maintain strong awareness of Health & Safety and follow all site and road safety procedures
• Complete scheduled deliveries to trade and retail customers on time and professionally
•  Keep accurate records of driving hours, mileage, and daily activity
• Deliver excellent customer service on every drop, representing the EH Smith brand
• Carry out daily vehicle walk-around checks and report any defects immediately
• Use the tachograph correctly and comply with all driving regulations

What we would like from you:

• Holds a valid HGV Category C license
• Positive, confident, professional, and safety-focused
• Delivers excellent customer service that goes above and beyond
• Ideally has HIAB experience and a valid ALLMI/HIAB certificate
