Housing Officer

OA is on the lookout for a Housing Officer to join our client’s thriving and expanding team.

Our client is a well-established, prestigious property management company based in East London. With over 20 years of experience in property procurement and management, they are experiencing significant growth and are keen to bring on board a talented Property Manager/Housing Officer to help manage their growing portfolio.

This welcoming company operates within Local Authority frameworks across London and the Southeast, managing a variety of homes. They are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic individual to join their fast-paced and dynamic team of property managers.

Location: Higham’s Park  

Hours: Full-time, 9am – 5:50pm, Monday to Friday. Office based.

Salary: £26,000-£29,000 – depending on experience.

Housing Officer Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for maintenance and repair queries relating to properties
  • Coordinate with both in-house and external contractors to arrange and oversee necessary works
  • Liaise with local authorities and maintain daily communication with tenants regarding ongoing or upcoming work
  • Raise and log job requests onto the ACT database, ensuring records are accurate and up to date
  • Manage void properties and re-let processes, helping to minimise turnaround time and ensure standards are maintained

Housing Officer Skills and Experience

  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to prioritise tasks in a busy environment.
  • Proactive and able to take initiative to solve problems effectively.
  • Personable with excellent communication skills, capable of building positive relationships with tenants and colleagues.
  • Experienced in property management or social housing, with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledgeable about health and safety regulations and committed to ensuring compliance.
  • Familiar with void property management and tenant processes, including check-ins and check-outs.
