If so, Osborne Appointments are currently working with an organisation based in St Albans, that are looking to hire a Logistics Assistant to join the team. 

We are looking for a reliable Logistics Assistant to be responsible for the overall supply chain management. Logistics Assistant responsibilities include organising and monitoring storage and distribution of goods. Our client is offering this role on a Temporary to Permanent basis, with full training provided. 

£10.77 an hour, weekly pay (Pay increases after probation)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00AM to 17:30PM

Immediate Start Date 

Logistics Assistant - Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicating with carriers/suppliers to guarantee all import shipments are on track and delivered on time
  • Updating the shipping schedule report daily, ensuring all delivery dates are accurate
  • The planning and arrangement for all new orders to be shipped, liaising with suppliers for manufacture completion dates and obtaining the most suitable departure/delivery dates with the forwarders at the best possible rates
  • Communicating with the warehouse supervisor, keeping them informed of all import deliveries for the week, providing packing lists and updating the sales team of any movements or delays
  • To run weekly stock reports and stock orders locally in UK and internationally
  • Ensuring all appropriate documents have been obtained/supplied to the forwarder carrying out the customs clearances process for all orders
  • To attend all weekly logistics meetings
  • The raising/receipting of purchase orders in the system
  • Keeping the Logistics Coordinator informed of any supplier price changes and updating the master data base accordingly
  • Ensure the integrity of inventory accuracy and manage stock movements with the help of direct reports
  • Identify and resolve any inventory discrepancies and ensure inventory and system records are in agreement

Logistics Assistant- Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience within similar position - Logistics / Supply Chain / Stock 
  • Strong communication skills; written and verbal
  • Professional and polite
  • Ability to use Microsoft Excel 
  • Ability to work in a busy work environment
  • Organisational skills
