Junior Account Handler

OA are recruiting for an Junior Account Handler to join our client’s growing team.

This role involves managing an existing portfolio of construction clients while developing and converting new business opportunities.

Location: Barnet
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm. Office based.

Salary: £25,000–£30,000 basic - £35,000 OTE

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the team in managing and servicing a portfolio of construction clients
  • Assist with renewals, quotations, and new business enquiries
  • Handle policy changes and mid-term adjustments (MTAs)
  • Respond to client queries via phone and email in a professional manner
  • Build positive relationships with clients and insurers
  • Help convert inbound enquiries into new business opportunities
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell additional products and services
  • Negotiate with insurers to obtain competitive terms for clients
  • Process policies, renewals, and documentation accurately using internal systems including Acturis
  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure excellent customer service and smooth day-to-day operations

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in customer service, sales, recruitment, administration, or a client-facing role desirable
  • An interest in starting or developing a career within the insurance industry
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Confident speaking with customers and handling enquiries
  • Highly organised with good attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn
  • Acturis experience or previous insurance experience beneficial but not essential, as training can be provided
  • Commercial awareness and a customer-focused approach advantageous
