Role: Electrician
Location: Buckingham
Hours: Full-time (8 am–4 pm or 9 am–5 pm), 35 hours a week
Salary: £18.20 per hour

An excellent opportunity has now arisen for an Electrician to join our client’s Estates & Facilities team. You’ll ensure the safe, compliant operation of electrical systems across a varied estate while delivering a high-quality service to staff, customers and visitors. This initially will be a temp position, with weekly pay, but there may be an opportunity for the role to become permanent.

We’re recruiting on behalf of a respected organisation in Buckingham with a collaborative, “one team” approach across Estates. You’ll join a supportive maintenance team where safety, quality and customer service come first.

Duties of an Electrician:
- Reactive and planned preventative maintenance to LV systems, distribution boards, emergency lighting, fire alarm interfaces and controls
- Fault-find, test, repair and replace wiring accessories, luminaires, control gear and small power circuits
- Undertake inspection & testing, complete EICs/EICRs and maintain accurate records
- Support small works and minor installations, including additions/alterations to existing circuits
- Complete condition surveys and clear reports for the Team Leader
- Work safely: RAMS, lock-off/tag-out, permits and compliance with current regulations
- Collaborate with colleagues, contractors and specialist engineers to deliver works
- Join the emergency call-out rota (including some out-of-hours) and support key site events (occasional weekends)
- Contribute to the wider Estates team with a “one team” approach
What we would like from you:
- NVQ/City & Guilds in Electrical Installation (e.g., 2365/2357) or equivalent experience
- 18th Edition (BS 7671) with solid experience in building services maintenance and small installations
- Inspection & Testing qualification (e.g., 2391/2392) or practical testing experience
- Confident with tablets/handhelds for job management and reporting; clear written documentation
- Customer-focused with strong communication and prioritisation skills
- Able to work at heights and in confined spaces
- Full UK driving licence
- Willing to join an out-of-hours call-out rota
Desirable:
- Experience working to NICEIC standards and producing compliant certification
- Controls/BMS exposure and emergency lighting testing/records
- Recognised H&S qualification (e.g., IOSH Working/Managing Safely)
- Proficient with MS Office
- Evidence of ongoing CPD
