Job Title: Credit Controller

Location:  Welwyn Garden City

Working hours: Monday-Friday

Salary: £26,000-£28,000

We’re looking for an experienced and proactive Credit Controller to join our finance department.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years’ experience within a similar environment.  They should have the ability to ‘hit the ground running’ and work in a self-motivated manner taking ownership and management of the role. If you are an organised individual with the ability to communicate effectively and provide a positive and focused attitude then this would be a fantastic opportunity for you.

Key accountabilities:

  • Ensure outstanding debts are paid in timely manner and maintain contact with customers in respect of overdue debt
  • Maintain accurate records and housekeeping of all customer activities via our CRM system
  • Identify and report to the FC any changes in payment patterns and propose action to avert losses
  • Timely resolution of any customer queries and requests by liaising with both customers and internal staff
  • Review and recommend customer credit limits and monitor customer credit ratings and updates
  • Control sales order credit releasing
  • Processing credit card payments as necessary
  • Process new customer applications and set up accounts
  • Controlling the processing of weekly debtor letters
  • Providing the FC with monthly reporting and analysis
  • Controlling debt management and ensuring all unpaid debts are kept to a minimum
  • Support and cover other members of the Finance Team as required

Your experience/abilities:

  • A minimum of three years’ credit control experience and proven records of successful debt chasing
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent IT skills covering Excel, Word and accountancy systems
  • Good inter-personal skills
  • Ability to prioritise and adapt to changing workloads
